These folk are amazing how in the world did they obtain my cell phone number?? My cell phone is listed on the DO NOT CALL LIST. No message was left. If they call back I'm reporting them.
Got home from celebrating our 41st anniversary and there had been a call from SNFC CNTRL CA. Now you know as much as I do.
There was no message on the machine, so:
1) There is no excuse for ever calling back. They could have left a message.
2) This was obviously not from someone wanting to wish us a happy anniversary.
3) If they ever do call back, I'll:
(a) file a lawsuit
(b) subpoena the phone company records
(c) come back here and post some USEFUL information (You know: informative.)
(d) encourage others to file lawsuits!
Unless we spend time seeking -- and sharing -- real information about improper telephone behavior, it will keep on . . . forever. If we actually find out who's making this call or that call or a series of calls, then share the information, that's a step in the right direction. Next step: FILE LAWSUITS, as well as FCC, FTC, and state AG complaints. If there are enough lawsuits, the companies will not profit, and they will change their behavior.
If we only come on the Internet to whine, post pointless comments like, "Stop calling me." as if they ever read these, or post "same here" statements -- then we're wasting our time. We're also wasting the time of people who seek useful information in order to take meaningful action, as they wade through false, inaccurate, or unusable postings looking for the rare gem of helpfulness.
Some people have success sometimes, calling the CID number back. I admire them because I'm not good at it. Occasionally, when there are a lot of calls from the same source, I try. Usually, the lawsuit/subpoena route is more productive.
This Web site has the potential for breaking the backs of companies which make improper telephone calls. Or, it has the potential for becoming another castoff, on the pile of great ideas which died for a lack of follow-through.
