Said same exact thing!!! David Murphy...SCAM! Said they were going to arrest me if i didn't pay. And my phone tapped! Ha Ha Ha! Joke is on u David Murphy!! His answering machine is 818-945-1953...maybe we just need to call him and harass him!! No more weight loss pills...didn't work anyway..was probably sheet rock dust! And bought these about 5 yrs ago. When I told them not to ever call me again over and over..I guess they use this scam to get you to pick up the phone!
just got same message ,david murphy about open & ongoing investigation and i freaked at first, then was suspicious when his voice mail automatically picked up 2 times. i also thought DEA stood for drug enforcement agency??
this is as low as it gets. this guy needs to be stopped.if any one is doing anything and needs back up (haha) let me know and i am with you.
We had to change our phone number 4 months ago because of calls from my "special agent". When my wife answered she gave him an earful and he told her that since she was a woman she had no right to yell at him and he hoped she would be RAPED!!! This man has to be stopped he now calls my workplace 2-3 times a day and my employer is getting sick of it but cannot find a way to get him to stop. My boss has even told him that I no longer work for the company but they continue to still call. What more can we do????
I got a call from agent David Murphy yesterday - same number as above 202-241-9377 - glad to hear he is not clever enough use different names most of the time.
Yes, Agt Murphy aka, Dominican Republican scam artist and partner in crime District Attorney Thomas Harrigan (415-852-9456) ARE at it again. Definitely not with the DEA. This freak called an elderly woman in Pasadena and had her scared to death that she was being watched, under surveillance, phone was being tapped, and she had an hour to go the nearest Western Union that THEY gave her the location by her house to wire $3500 to the Dominican Republic - Luis Rodriguez. Thank goodness she actually knew someone with the real DEA and was able to verify the stuff was all a hoax....too bad more people don't just immediately google these names and phone numbers before sending the money. They are very annoying and harassing. However, stand your ground to them and tell them impersonating a federal agent is a felony as well as report it to the DEA at 877-792-2873.
As far as local law enforcement goes, they don't have the resources to investigate, especially if someone is not out any money. However, you can look for a cyber crime task force either with FBI or the Internet Crime Complaint Center. CA has some task forces in the state that specifically work identity theft type crimes like this. You just have to be persistent to find the right one that will actually investigate.
