I received a call stating my computer is sending error messages. I hung up on him. He called back and asked me why I hung up. I couldn't understand him. Heavy Indian accent. Poor sound quality. He became very agitated which I thought was comical. Yes, I actually laughed. He became more agitated. I asked who he was. All he said was he called to help me with my computer. I disconnected the call once again. Every time he called back a different number showed up or unavailable. I have active antivirus and a secure network. These idiots think they can bully you. I assure you he called the wrong person. Consumers beware they are out there and stop at nothing to get your information. Please be smart about the type of information you give out. If there's any question as to the validity of the call, call the bank, vendor, etc. directly.
"Adam" called "about my computer". Sounded like ESL. I asked what was up and he terminated the call. Caller ID showed JD Global Comm which is a real company. Most likely spoofed caller ID.
Really who is doing business at 7:30 pm on a Friday night?
Looked up J2 Global Community - they are using another number now...
714-386-5742 was in an 800 Notes from April of 2010:
"I just got a call from Global Communications. She just wanted to verify if my address and phone # was correct, then she said so it's the same as last year for your internet yellow pages,"
Considering my number used to belong to a business about 15 years ago...I still get these stupid calls. Because they don't do any "Due Diligence" to see if the company they are trying to sell to still exists - at least at the number they are using.
The area code 415 is San Francisco. 714 is also California.
I don't answer any 877 calls, and big surprise - they didn't leave a message either.
