I received a call stating my computer is sending error messages. I hung up on him. He called back and asked me why I hung up. I couldn't understand him. Heavy Indian accent. Poor sound quality. He became very agitated which I thought was comical. Yes, I actually laughed. He became more agitated. I asked who he was. All he said was he called to help me with my computer. I disconnected the call once again. Every time he called back a different number showed up or unavailable. I have active antivirus and a secure network. These idiots think they can bully you. I assure you he called the wrong person. Consumers beware they are out there and stop at nothing to get your information. Please be smart about the type of information you give out. If there's any question as to the validity of the call, call the bank, vendor, etc. directly.
These guys keep calling, and calling. Sometimes they just hang up sometimes they tell me there is something wrong with my computer. In all cases I have asked them to stop calling me.
My father keeps getting harassed by this number. They want him to get on his computer and give them some numbers off of it. I'm telling you, this is a scam. They said it had to do with windows and needed to make some changes. I wish these jerks would leave people alone.
I could tell from the caller ID that this was a scam but I was in the mood to play games with them so I picked up on the call. I could barely hear the guy through all the VOIP static but it appears that he was trying to tell me (in an extremely heavy accent) that their systems had noticed that my computer was having problems. He wanted me to get in front of my computer but I couldn't understand much beyond that due to his accent and the static. I told him that I was a computer technician (which I am) and that there was nothing wrong with my computer. He acted like he didn't even hear me and kept jabbering about getting in front of my computer. He sounded so excited that I thought he was on the verge of having a heart attack. Since the fun of having a battle of wits with an unarmed person goes away when the other person doesn't understand English I just put the phone down and let him talk to the desk as they seemed to have something in common. I came back about 35 minutes later. He had stopped talking but the line sounded like it was still open. At that point I just hung up the phone. I'm sure I will get another chance for a fun battle of wits when they call back again. Hopefully the next one can speak and understand English.
