got calls from this number and a couple others also starts with 360. Never answered them and they never left a message. Only scammers keep on calling but never leave message!! I think they are all from the same scammers.
Display says Unknown Name (usually a robo-dialer); just called and let it go to voicemail (my Rogers home phone system should have cut it off). Pre-recorded female voice says its Amy (no surname nor company name mentioned) claiming I've won a cruise for two to The Bahamas, if I take a 'short survey'.
This is a scammer call, folks. First, they want to verify if your number is valid and they add it to their database (so they can try other scam calls on you). The source number is not real; it is spoofed using a computer and a VoIP protocol...in this case the '360' number means they are using Google Mail and a computer to dial number after number. They don't know you! What they really want is any kind of identifying information - name, address, phone, credit card # or income level - anything they can use to create a Fake ID which is then used to commit fraud in your name. See the RCMP Top Scams website.
Report fraud calls like this by emailing your local anti-fraud squad, and tell your elected officials you want their support in funding the police and leverage our trade agreeents against the source countries that support such call centres. Public pressure is the only way to get them shut down. This one usually originates (like Rachel of the non-existant Cardholder Services) in the United States.
Received a call from 416-360-8879, unanswered
No Message left, tried to call back and showed busy tone
good to have read this posts. while trying to check the number
It definitely sounds like scammers are coming up under this number, but I just received a legit reminder call for a Citrix event that I am actually registered for.
My guess is this might be a general outbound number the phone company uses for lots of reasons, and not one that is tied to any specific scammer.
Got a call from these rats yesterday, Oct. 17. No message. Now that I have a landline, scamming creeps keep calling from various numbers and never leave a message. Must think those of us out there are naive.
Thanks to everyone for reporting them too. It helps quite a bit.
