I got a call from a woman who claimed she was from Windows Operations and my computer was being compromised. She said my computer was being hacked and would be corrupted. She told me to log on so she could check. I advised her I was going out and if I could get her phone number to call her back. She gave me the number of 416-362-9842. I also checked my call display on the phone and saw the number she called from was 1-718-303-2744 which belongs to a technical support company called RAPID PC CARE. Just another scam.
Just got a call from this number. I answered but no one said anything. I waited a few seconds then an automated voice said, "goodbye". FFS!!! I hate these telemarketing scammers!!
Received a call from *Windows*. I told him that I don't have a computer and he said: *yes you do ma'am*. I told him no once again and hung up. One of those scumbags because Microsoft will NEVER call their customers. It's all a scam because for a steep fee they will *fix* all errors in event viewer by remote if you let them. Over the years I've read tons of info about these scams.
received a call from this number also asking someone who was at the house to go check the computer, he knew the owners name though, so tell these scammers that you will call the police next time they call
