Got a call from this number just now, telling me that my computer was reporting problems. I asked which computer since we have 3 of them in the house, and he proceeded to give me a very long "License Number" which he said he would help me find (I decided to play dumb). Said he would walk me through the process, and told me to start by pressing the Windows key. Told him I couldn't find it...out of frustration he described what it looked like...I told him I still didn't see anything like that on my keyboard. He finally asked me what kind of computer I was using and I said "Apple"!!!!! He immediately starting shouting that I was a "[***] [***]" and "[***] your computer". So much for helping me...
Got this call all I heard was a machine that said bye. I had that scammer call and asked him what type of computer I had and operating system. No answer was forthcoming
Female caller with a thick Indian (sub-continent) accent. She told me my computer was sending error/virus messages to the internet, and she would walk me through the procedure to rectify the issues. I messed around with her for about 5 minutes, telling her I had to plug it in, then had trouble finding the buttons to press, couldn't see anything on the screen, et cetera. She eventually asked if the computer was turned on. I said I don't know how to do that. She then asked to speak with the main user of the computer. I said I am the only person present. She wanted to call back and speak with the main user. I was tiring of the ruse so I told her I was a burglar, stealing these people's belongings. Then, I rang off.
Said my computer has a virus and was sending error messages. Wanted me to go online and enter some command so he could help me fix the problems. Told him I'd have to hang up now because my dial up connection needed the phone line to get online. Hung up on him then blocked the number.
