If you acknowledge their call in any manner, it just tells them they have a live phone number. They then sell your phone number to another scammer as well as continuing to call you. NEVER respond in any way to these calls, just ignore them or block them but do not respond or you will never get rid of them.

got another call from 'card services'. Most irritating. Wish I could let them know I wouldn't do business of any sort..even if they were the last company offering their service
Received this call today - 2 different 417 area code calls.
Solution is simple (with cell phone):
Add number to contacts as "SPAM".
Assign silent ringer/vibration to contact.
Viola...
