This guy from Wyndham just called and asked for me. As I stood next to my wife he told her that I have stayed at thier San Diego location several times and why she was not with me? This has really got me P@#$%D OFF. When I try to call the number back (caller ID) I get no answer. I still can't figure out how they got my home phone number and my name since I am unlisted
I've read some really ungodly reviews here, so just to clear the air.
First off, I am a proud employee of Wyndham and worked with the company for about a year now. It IS a "legitamate" company. We are not trying to "get over" or "rip off" the public. Simply trying to make life a little more enjoyable for everyone.
Secondly, the sales represenatives DO NOT just pick people out of the blue to try and sell the product. Wyndham now owns 8 out of 10 major hotel franchise names such as Ramada, Days Inn, WYNDHAM Hotels etc...If you've ever stayed at any of these hotels you probably know this to be a fact. The sales represenatives are calling past users of these hotels and others to let it be known of our recent purchase and to offer a vacation which can be taylored to fit your specific needs.
Wyndham sales reps will not and do not leave messages on answering machines for the simple fact that it's against the law. Also, isn't everyone aware that the National DO NOT CALL Registry expires annually???
Thirdly, when there is package purchased, Wyndham (by law) does a verbal recording in which ALL of the terms and conditions of the package are stated. We provide all customers, after the transaction is complete, a six digit authorization number which is generated directly from your debit or credit card company. That number acts as a recept number(since your not actually there to sign anything) and if nessesary you can also use it to track the charge through your debit or credit card company.
Lastly, Wyndham did purchase several timeshare organizations in early 2007. RCI, Trendwest, Worldmark etc...We have been around since the early 1960's and are now the worlds largest timeshare and vacation ownership company. We DID NOT get to where we are at by being dishonest or misleading our customers or potential customers. For everyone who has recieved or is currently recieving calls from Wyndham take time to listen to what those folks have to say. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
Got a call from this number. I don't have caller ID set up yet, so I used *69 to get the number. This is a phone number that I have not given to anyone outside my immediate family, yet this guy called and asked for me by name. Something about selling vacations. When I asked him to repeat his name, he hung up on me. Obviously a very sleazy fly-by-night scam.
Also a reply to the self-serving note from the Wyndham rep - if you are so legit, how come your people hang up as soon as queried about who they are? You shouldn't be so proud to work for such a company. If your product was legit, you wouldn't have to resort to such UNWANTED methods of harrassing people to buy your services. And it's a LIE about only calling people who have used your services before - the phone number your people called has never been give out to anyone - you could only have gotten it fromjthe telephone company listing.
