answered the call after multiple calls per day. pushed buttons and entered fake zip codes until i was put on hold and then someone answered. i immediately asked to be removed from the list. she said it was citibank for best buy and asked if i have a best buy account. i replied, "nope. remove my number." she asked again for my number, and i wouldn't give it to her and said they called me so she should have it and this number has called me multiple times per day. she asked again, and i also stated that i looked up this number, and there are reports that it's a scam, so get me off the list. she said "ok." clearly sounded like she couldn't argue with that. go away, losers.
I get about 6 or 7 calls from this number a day. Most of the time they call back to back. I have them blocked. They leave the same message about my Best Buy credit card.
They keep calling me dozen times a day. I called back told them to not to call me again - but they keep calling! So, I picked up the phone and the person asked for my social security number. I refused to tell him and asked what his name is. He refused to tell me. I asked what organization this is - he refused to tell me. Then I asked if this is 'CITI' as caller ID indicated - He told me it is CITI. Looks very suspicious!
I told him next time they call I will report immediately to Police. Hope this will stop. Looks like a SCAM!
Citibank has taken over the older Best Buy credit cards. I think it's the ones that used to be under HRSA. The caller ID says only "Citi" with the above listed number. They have called me 6 times in the past 24 hours but I no longer have a phone plugged in at home. I just see my caller ID on the tv and on my iPad. I forgot to pay my bill just before Christmas and I am sure that's why they are calling me today. This is not a sales call. It's about a past due payment.
