Okay....I'm a complete idiot. Let's go ahead and get that out of the way. These guys called me saying I won a $500 shopping spree because I was a prefered customer. Trust me, if I hadn't been busy and so tired I wouldn't have agreed.
Basically, free subscriptions to six different magazines came as a bonus and all I had to pay was shipping, which was $3.85 a week. They had the first numbers of my credit card, my name, and my address already so I assumed it was legitimate. They said I could pay the money accumulatively every month, or 20 monthly payments of $49.00. Yes, I know how to do simple math. Obviously $3.85 times 4 is not $49.00, but at the time I was under the influence of powerful sleeping meds so I was in a daze. Even then, I blame myself.
So 20 monthly payments of $49.00 comes out to almost $1,000, twice the amount of the shopping spree, therefore making them about $500 over time. I'm supposed to get information about this "offer" in the mail within a couple days, but even if it does come I've agreed to their payments so they will make money off me. I'm unable to contact them (imagine that) about cancelling. IF I get the information in the mail, and IF it has a return address, perhaps I will try and use that to contact them, but from what I remember about the conversation they were very convincing so they wouldn't be stupid enough to leave any sort of trail, except these phone numbers 1 423 317 8519 1 423 317 8561 423 733 8137 and their "customer service line" 1 866 900 2719
I wish I could remember the conversation, but here are a couple things. I spoke to three different people, all women. They asked me the same questions many times and very rapidly. They made small talk and asked me questions about work and school. They told me their names, and the one I remember is Linda.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if anybody has had a similar experience please post it here AND email me at
