I too get calls from this number when i am at work and I often get missed calls from numbers starting from 425 and same here too as they never leave voice mail. I never pick up calls from unknown numbers so I don't know who s/he is going to pretend to be if i answer the call. How can we get rid of this crazy bstrd?
Yes, this is a telephone solicitor. I have been receiving the calls also, for about 3 months now. They are trying to offer a debt settlement service, which is a huge industry right now. I certainly won't say that they are simply a scam, they just happen to use very annoying marketing techniques.
The funny part about them calling me is that I manage a debt settlement company. Even though I have repeatedly told them that If I were in need of the service, I would enroll in my own program, they do continue to call. I have pressed 1 to be connected, I have pressed 2 to be removed, I have pressed 0 to speak with an operator, but all paths lead to the same dead end.
It seems as if the same company has several prerecorded messages. Some offer to lower interest rates, some say they are from card services, etc. The one today was new though, it offered to "go in and eliminate your debt for free". This was enticing! It's still the same debt settlement service which is certainly not "free", as most companies charge 15% of the total debt load that is enrolled in the program, and often other fees in addition to that.
If anyone on here happens to be an attorney, please let me know whether or not this false advertisement is ethical or even legal. If not maybe something could be done. When I asked the representative of this company whether or not their claim of removing your debt for free was accurate, he quickly hung up the telephone. Who knows, maybe that will get me off of their list.
I can tell you that their telemarketers are not very good at what they do, so if you would like to entertain yourself for a few minutes, speak with them and ask them some mentally challenging questions. In fact, they can't even explain "how" their process works, as they have to send you over to someone who is more familiar with the process, i.e. the deal closer.
I vote that everyone speak with these representatives and take up as much of their time as possible by giving them false information and getting their hopes up. Well, thats more than enough out of me, happy bashing!
They called at 5:32 PM. It came up as "Renton, WA" on my iPhone. I did not pick up.
I feel like this number is somehow familiar. Maybe they called me a long time ago.
It was a call automated saying "We would like to add your information to Google's Business directory."
I was supposed to press 1 to Add, or 2 to decline. I figured if it was legit and I did nothing, someone would come on and maybe I could tell it was a "call center" but it just disconnected. I too, am on the NO Call List.
