I got a phone call from them on my old phone number, which is a Google Voice phone number so I still have access to it. They have my full social security number! She just rattled it off over the phone. I told them I wasn't committing to or paying anything without written verification, as I have gotten many scam litigation threats in the past. They don't have a Web site, won't give out mailing address, hang up when you request additional information. They get very rattled if you push them for anything at all. One of them said "Good luck to you, ma'am." I tried calling back and was put on hold forever, obviously hoping I would just hang up which I did to call back again. I just want to verify that this is a debt I owe, that I have even done business with the company their claiming is their client, etc. I've been threatened with wage garnishment before, I know it can happen, but over a 7 year old overdraft after it's been sold off multiple times (like I said I've been harassed by them all over the years) it is a little hard to believe.
I'm reading here that people are told they have 24 hours, but then get a call a week later. OK, bye. Not believing these people.
we got a call from the 425 number saying that an old settled debt was not fully paid and that we owed them 325.00 now or 325.00 plus 1800.00 in lawyer fees if they have to continue further action. they gave us an old address from 14 years ago and said they had tried to send correspondence, but now we are past the window of time to make arrangements...
