Got a call from this number and Immediately checked this site. Then I blocked my number and called it back and said i just got a call claiming to be from the IRS - the person asked me to give them my home phone number and I said "no" he responded "fine you can hang up the phone" I laughed and said "you realize everyone knows this is a scam" to which he replied (and I am quoting) "F$^k your self"......
I wish something could be done about this type thing.
Vulnerable people, truly unaware of technology are often fooled and loose money. It's a crime.
Returned voice mail message asking to return call 425.377.1349 to IRS investigstions unit. Similar to other descriptions from this number. Person Identified themselves as Patrick Bell when I asked. Gave me 94290 federal employee number. I asked if they accepted credit cards he said no that it would have to be a money gram. I asked for particulars on the tax return error and was told that they couldn't share that as it would be evidence in the fraud trial. Such [***] and I almost fell for it. They even said they didn't want to push and that u should go in person to my local irs office to verify that this was real.
Same message from "IRS" Agent #94290 received on my answ. machine 10/09/15. That I spent even a few moments listening to the ridiculous message in an attempt to understand what had been recorded rattles my cage. Craig D's approach is ingenious; I'm going to copy his response immediately. THANK YOU, Craig!. Perfectly played ;)
