I got a call from this number on my cell phone. When I answered, there was a recording, something like, "We are calling about your credit card account, this is the last time we are going to call you about this before we cancel your card." It's a HOAX. Not even one single mention of a bank name! Don't fall for it; all they want to do is get your information!
Call keeps coming in from this number, they never say anything and when I call the number back on 425-390-8105 it does give you an option to say you do not want anymore calls on special but never identifies the company. I have said to ake me off the list and do not call me anymore, but it has done no good.
Called our office this morning and immediately hung up as I was still saying "Parkinson Association of the Carolinas" It was identified on Caller ID as "Search Engine"
Received call from this number. Ignored the call as I didn't recognize the number. On call back, got a recorded message that gave option to be put on a do not call list, but did not identify the source.
I received a call from this number last night on a business line, caller ID said "Search Engine." They just called again, and I decided to answer. A recording played, asking if I'd like my business to receive a Google Local listing (or something to that effect). Press 1 if you want the listing, press 2 if you do not want to be listed. I just hung up.
Of course, it's free and easy for any business to sign up on Google to have a place page, and my hunch is this company is looking for people who don't know much about Google, to basically extract money for doing practically nothing. But I guess a robo-dialer can call thousands of people an hour, and find a few suckers... How are companies like this not shut down immediately?
Note that the phone number they called has been on the Do Not Call List for awhile.
