Just got a call from this number and "Robert Brooks." I know from past experiences that this is a scam. Anyone who wants to sue you would do more than place a phone call and harass you. Be smart, and don't give out any personal info! Better yet, don't answer! This number is getting added to my list of blocked numbers.
Add my name as well. This call was to my cell phone which I never give out. He said the same as everyone before me that he was "Robert Brooks with pre-trial intervention and I had a pending case in his office thaT needed my immediate attention. He needed to speak with me or my attorney of record immediately today. IF he didn't hear from me our my attorney will document that I've waived my right to counsel and submit your case govern yourself accordingly." Total scam. This is not how the law operates. And I don't have any debt and this phone number he called on would not show up in any records. He didn't ask for a specific person either. Just started his rambling.
Got the same call yesterday, but I was in the doctor's office. He left a voicemail saying the same thing. Who is he submitting my case to? He doesn't say. What is the case regarding? He doesn't say. As you said, this is not how the law works. Pretrial intervention is offered by the district attorney's office as a way for people to avoid prosecution. If I was facing prosecution, I'm sure my first time hearing about it wouldn't be a voicemail from a long distance number. So nice try "Robert Brooks."
By the way, I received another call today from a similar number: (440) 249-7747. This time it was James calling. Don't pay these people any mind.
These guys are total scum.....Don't even give it a second thought. its a scam. All of us here have experienced the same call. I got it yesterday and today. I have NO warrants out for my arrest. I don't owe any bad checks ......Please, don;t let it ruin your day.
caller (Robert Brooks) left a voice message stating that I or my attorney needed to call him back or he was going to proceed... he didnt address it to anyone specific and did not reference a "case number" when I called back he told me I had 3 felony counts against me, that I was a broke loser and he was happy I was going to go to jail
got a call from Robert brooks on 10-20-14 saying I will have a warrant out for my arrest due to check fraud, told him I have an attorney he needs to talk to, he got upset and said it was a criminal case so they can't help. We argued a bit because I knew it was a scam and he hung up after telling me j can try and call him when I'm downtown in lockup!. Had my attorney's office call, she was hung
Up on twice and was told it was a criminals case and they couldn't do anything. Ha!! Scammers suck
