Who called from 4434784835

I have been receiving threatening phone calls from this number.  They emailed me a settlement letter, I responded asking them to send me something in writing regarding a debt that I owed but to no avail.  Please what can I do to stop getting these calls on my job.

Once you tell them not to call your job they can be fined for each call (in some cases more than $1,000 per call!). Unless they provide proof of a VALID debt, they are just trying to trick you.

I got the same here at my business this morning. They won't ID where they're from. They are just phishing by threatening you with a complaint. Ignore them or block them.

DId I just get scammed by these people? I live in Louisiana and they called my wife's house phone which is not listed and left a automated message telling me to call back because I was begin taken to court over a debt. Well the number I called back was 4434784835  they said I was beging taken to court for a payday loan debt in Harford county MD. they gave me old info from when I lived in MD when I was in the military. I left MD in 2006    they said this was from a 2010 payday loan. WTF!!!!! I told them I was a victim of ID theft and that this did not belong to me. they insisted I pay this so as it wouldn't be transferred to my local area for litigation and that it would be send to my local police for invegastion..   they claimed the company was called Alliance Online.   I hope I dident get scammed. I asked for a address to where they operate and was told they cannot give that out nor a website.  sounds fishy to me. should I call my CC company and stop the payment I gave them?

Did you receive anything IN WRITING that was MAILED from this company??  They can not/REFUSED to give their address??

I suggest you get on the phone with the credit card company NOW!  You can NOT be arrested even if you did owe money.,  They have violated the FDCPA law at least twice - refusal of address & threat of police action!!!
