Who called from 4435520777

I talked to three different men with strong india accents who told me that I have a problem with my Windows application.  I couldn't understand their English so I hung up.   Since there isn't any problems with my computer I figured it was a scam call

You were wise to hang up.  

The way the scam works, they tell you how to let them into your computer.  They claim they are scanning for malware, found some, and try to charge you to remove it.  What they really do is install malware that allows them to read every document on your computer and monitor your internet activity.  They can also use your computer to send spam or participate in a DDOS attack.

My neighbor fell for it.  She ended up changing all of her bank accounts and replacing her CPU.

called me saying I have spyware, and they would like to fix problem.....said they were Microsoft IT Support for Windows 7... ha I don't have any computers with Windows 7....
We are all Windows 8...  Don't fall for this!!!!

Caller, who had an Indian accent, said he was from Microsoft Windows department and that his name was "Henry Morrison".  He said they had detected a problem with our home computer.  When I questioned him he went on to insist that they had all our personal information.  When I asked him to give me our address, he was accurate.  I told him I would need to call him back to verify the call was legit.  He gave me the '443' number and said he was in Baltimore.  I immediately called Microsoft's '800' number, where they had no hesitation in explaining to me that it was a fraudulent call.

Same with me. An unknown caller with an Indian accent called this morning, telling me my Windows computer were infected and they (Service Centre of the Microsoft Home Branch in Baltimore, Maryland) need to walk through my computer. The only information he could provide was this phone number and the adress 714 WN ave. Baltimore, Maryland. When I asked why they would call me from Baltimore here in Switzerland he just repeated (over and over again) that they were the Microsoft Home Branch and had detected a problem with my Windows computer. As a reason for that he mentioned the errors and warnings in my eventviewer.
However, I told him I couldn't trust on what he's saying, since I have no possibility to verify any of it.
A call at the local microsoft hotline proved my suspicion true. They told me it was most likely a scam call, since they would never do something like that.
So if you get a call from this number just hang up on them!

Und jetzt noch für alle Deutschsprachigen: Ich habe heute Morgen einen Anruf von einer unterdrückten Nummer erhalten. Der Anrufer sprach englisch mit indischem Akzent und erzählte mir er wäre vom Service Center des Microsoft Hauptsitzes in Baltimore, Maryland USA und sie hätten festgestellt, dass mein Windows-Computer infiziert sei. Er forderte mich auf, mich über eine Webseite mit Ihenen zu verbinden, damit ein Techniker meinen PC wieder in Ordnung bringen kann. Als Bestätigung für die Infizierung meines PC's gab er die Fehler- und Warnmeldungen in meiner Ereignisanzeige an.
Auf meine Nachfrage hin waren die einzigen Informationen die er mir geben konnte die obige Nummer und die Adresse 714 WN ave. Baltimore, Maryland. Als ich nachfragte warum er mich von Baltimore aus hier in der Schweiz anrufe, wiederholte er nur die Geschichte vom Service Center und dem infizierten Computer. Ich beendete das Gespräch indem ich ihm sagte, ich könne nichts davon glauben, da ich keine Möglichkeit hätte seine Angaben zu bestätigen. Als ich dann die Schweizer Hotline von Microsoft anrief, bestätigten diese meine Bedenken. Sie sagten mir es wären höchstwahrscheinlich Betrüger, da Microsoft nie von sich aus bei einem Kunden anrufen und auch keine Möglichkeiten hätten eine solche "Vireninfektion" festzustellen.
Also wenn jemand diese Masche bei Ihnen versuchen sollte: einfach auflegen!
