You blew your integrity with your first sentence. Slim is one of the most informative and helpful members of this board by providing scam information, consumer rights and other useful information concerning the laws of the FDCPA, all for free, and all for people like yourself. You haven't a clue as to what you are talking about. If anything, he is one of the top members in disparaging the scammers. I find your uninformed post, offensive myself.
BTW: Upper cased post are a violation of the Administrative rules of this board.
Someone making flawed logic rants under four different aliases is not "at least trying to help people" but enjoying the sound of his echo chamber. The person you're hot to praise pretty much pissed ignorantly on the lead comment, made by someone who had conducted a ridiculous amount of homework to expose an illegal sales call laundering scheme.
To sound like a shill, Slim would have to try a lot harder to fog the discussion with false drama and kneejerked misinformation .... not that I'm referring to anyone in particular ....
I'm sure JD was well aware of how Caller ID spoofing works. The research he did on illegal sales call centers introduced many of us to the concept of "dip fee" revenue sharing, and unmasked the players involved in their corporate incest. You bumble in months later and throw rocks at his work without even reading it, based merely on what you think are conflicting Caller ID entries. It has yet to dawn on you that a call center can have more than one client. The scofflaw boiler room may section off different areas for the credit reprice scam, alarm system sales, sat-TV dish sales, medical panic buttons, and so on.
Meanwhile you want us all to vaguely paint the wrong target, "da phone comp'nies" in general, for permitting scammers to complete their calls. One, your service provider has no legal choice to arbitrarily filter call traffic, and two, it is shielded from blame by a long held "common carrier" idea. Good luck with that "shooting the messenger" plan. It's also not helping your cause to emulate the spoofing and spam-like behavior of illegal callers, posting soundalike squawks here in rapid fashion as "grrrr", "classaction", and "hsdfj".
