WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!
Just checked the area code for both phone numbers. The first one supposed came from Oregon somewhere and the second phone number came from Philadelphia. Definitely a scam.
Same thing happened to me...promise to lower my rate to 6%. I said to call me back 'cuz didn't have card on me. I googled the number and saw these comments for this number and another number they used. Will be blocking those numbers now. Thanks for the feedback.
Same issue, they contacted me wanting my card information as verification in order to lower my interest rate. When I challenged him about why this wasn't being done automatically if he was truly from my credit card company, the guy went on a long sepal about the security verification was needed before they could do anything. I then challenged the guy to verify my card number, at first wouldn't then he eventually provided me with the first four digits (I have since requested a new card number from my credit card). The guy then was continued to push for my expiration date and zip code. I refused to give him this information and would like to be transferred over to his supervisor. The guy proceeded to tell me he was the supervisor, I immediately hung up. Contacted my credit card company and they confirmed it was not them, additionally they informed me that the first four digits are pretty easy to get publicly since most cards start with the same group of numbers (aka Capital One 551#, ). Big time scam someone will fall for.
