Call them back they KNOW you are a good number.  Mistake.  But, one that i made numerous times.  Now i need a new number after 40 years.

Furthermore, as mentioned by someone else, putting yourself on the DNC list is the worst thing you could do. They are phishing for active phone numbers to sell to other scammers, just dont answer... and fill out the FCC form

I said, "Yeah, with this truckload of Girl Scout Cookies I've got in my driveway, I need it!"
She replied, "Oh, how sweet! You have a little girl?"
I answered, "No, I have three sons and we just jacked the delivery truck!"
She gasped and hung up.
