Called claiming that I was late on utility bill and utilities would be shut off unless I gave them my credit card number. I asked to meet in person knowing it was a scam and they hung up on me.
received a call from the number stating I had a problem with my computer and they were from Microsoft. First off I use Apple products, not Microsoft, so therefore after I explained to them this was a scam they began to threaten my life. the number, 458-796-5152, when called back states it is not in service. They just called me... Male with an Indian accent had decent English skills many operators could be heard in the background alerted me to a call center activity. They said they were calling from Microsoft and that my computer was infected and sending them multiple errors. I'm a network engineer so I played dumb and they tried to get me to open a run box on my computer. I'm thinking he was going to direct me to a website with a trojan or executable.... I played really dumb. He called me illiterate so I laughed at him. He then said "This is serious and you should not be laughing at me".... I laughed even harder and he hung up. hahaha! Fun to play with but rather serious that such an organized effort is being made to defraud people . ...globalization they say.... progress they say....
