Caller asked if I would accept a pledge to make a donation to help breast cancer patients. I said sure and asked if they would mail it to me. Caller asked how about a lower amount, $15? I said that's fine, but I prefer to donate via mail with a check. Caller said she understood, hoped I'd have a nice day and hung up. Now what legitimate charity refuses to collect donations by mail? Think if I had handed out payment information over the phone, I might of seen a couple of extra zeros on that $15 donation... My verdict, scam. Never give payment info over the phone unless you are 100% sure you know whose on the other end.
Breast Cancer foundation...I am battling breast cancer have asked the no to call me any more. I can not help others when I can barely help myself. Caller said I am mean and stingy and I don't want others to survive because they can not get the care they need. Asked how can I get help from your foundation answer you can not. But you can give out our pledge cards to your friends, family, and neighbors so that others can. I have medical records that prove what I am going through. Now who is mean and stingy. SCAM SCAM SCAM...
Left message on machine. Said they wanted to send me a free home health monitor. Caller ID said "Dallas, Tx.", but the area code is not Dallas. Called again, same msg. This time they used a cell phone with a different area code.
Glad I quit answering my phone, silly me - I figured it was "Bank Card" Financial, not breast cancer. Someday these folks will learn most of us don't give to people who bother us with incessant phone calls, no matter the sob story.
Number now blocked, I suppose it will be a new one or two tomorrow!
