This number just called me too. Accent seems from a guy from Indian Sub Continent. He just spoke my name and I said yes and then, call ended. What could they do with this type of calls?
According to the police department in our city, there is a phone scam going on where the caller tries to elicit the word "YES" from the person answering the phone, so they will ask "is this John Smith?" and the normal reply would be "yes." The scammers then use a recording of you saying "yes" and will then make an edited tape that has you agreeing to some sort of scam business deal. As Nancy Reagan said many times... just say no!
