I bought a Marine Air Horn, and when directed to "press '1' ", I gladly do so , wait until someone comes on then line, I draw them in a little bit, and then blast the air horn, laugh at them, and then I hang up. Very satisfying.
Also, set your answering machine to answer at 6 rings instead of 4 - they NEVER wait past 4 rings.
They called, said I qualify for a lower interest rate on my credit cards for making my payments on time. I pressed 1 to speak to someone, a guy in speaking in broken English told me they can lower my interest rate. He asked how much credit card debt I have, I told him, he asked me if it was Master Card or Visa, and asked me for the expiration date so he could pull my most recent statement. He also said he is affiliated with my credit card company. Then he said I was required to give my card #, I said no!! He asked if it is the card starting with "5178", all Master Cards start with that #. I refused to give him my card #, he kept saying I was required to and I am not responsible for fraudulent charges. I told him I will call my credit card company my self.
I asked what country he was calling from, he said Brooklyn, NY and his name is Diego Fernandez, but he sounded more like Habib from India. I also asked what phone # I could call him back at, he said the # showing up on my phone.
Sounds like a scam to me! And the # is a Dallas #.
Just got a call from 469-262-2040. Picked up and it was a recorded message about saving on credit card offers. I pressed "3" to be removed from all offers. Call came in at 10:10am (CT), location said "TX, USA."
