Called at 7:30am this morning. They never leave a message so I don't know who they are. Reading here I see they are possibly a debt collector but could be scammers. With so much number spoofing it's difficult to say but I'd sure like that $1000 for them violating the FDCPA.
It doesn't do any good to tell them that they are calling the wrong number. They will give you their word that they will remove your number from their database but they don't. I have been getting calls from them for several months....they just called again a few minutes ago. No matter what you tell them or how nice you are or how mean you are or how much you threaten them, they will keep calling.
They called weeks ago everyday. I finally called them and found out who they were calling for which is no one I know. They removed my number. Today they're at it again.
aa - I have received calls from multiple debt collection agencies on my home landline number for Patty Rice, thus I highly doubt she is a "victim". 1) One of the collectors shared some of her PII. When I checked the white pages online, my number had been previously been assigned to Patty Rice and her associated location listed matched that shared by the collection agency. 2) Further, I received numerous calls from the school nurse, school principal elementary school teachers regarding Ms' Rice's daughter as well as numerous robo calls from the school district regarding upcoming events and inclement weather notifications impacting school openings and releases. The woman's poor daughter obviously had medical issues that needed attention evidenced by the numerous calls left by the school nurse when her daughter needed to be picked up early from school on several occasions. It was heartbreaking to receive multiple calls in a single day knowing the poor girl was not getting the medical attention needed. In my mind, that qualifies as a form of child abuse (neglect). For over 2 years, those calls came when I was at work and there was no way to leave a message for staff after hours. Those calls stopped only after I took time from work to speak with the school principal. 3) Finally, Patty Rice submitted a resume to Fidelity which included her old phone number. How do I know? Somebody from Fidelity's HR department left a voice mail on my answering machine for Patty Rice offering her a position in response to her resume. My VM announcement clearly states my phone number and I also called Fidelity at the number provided and confirmed my current phone number was in fact the number they were attempting to contact applicant Patty Rice as per her recently submitted resume. So, do I feel badly about calling out an irresponsible person? Not in the least. As I see it, the only victims here are me, her daughter and the folks who were not paid by Ms. Rice.
Just received another call from 469.304.9862 (1/22/2015 @ 11:46 am). Since my post in Nov 2014, also received calls from 469.304.9862 on 1/2/2015 @ 12:07 pm, 12/23/2014 @ 3:34 pm; 12/17/2014 @ 2:03 pm; 12/11/2014 @ 3:00 pm; 12/8/2014 @ 1:19 pm. There may have been more but that is as far back as my records reflect at this time. I have not answered any of the recent calls. I previously notified the collection agency that I am not the debtor they are attempting to contact and was assured they would update their records accordingly. However, they have obviously failed to do so and their harassment continues unabated. The Do Not Call Registry is worthless. The feds mailed a written response to me indicating there was nothing they could do. Seems that agency should be defunded as it is failing to live up to its mandate.
