Not sure "why" with all out " so-called" Technology systems I cannot believe that calls of this nature cannot be totally blocked by the phone company that we are paying money to!!!!.....I still have a house phone, which I should get rid of since I have a cell phone.....not sure why I keep having a that darn home phone, but anyway this number for whatever reason leaves no message, etc. it rang / rings three or four times and hangs up it's a really stupid.
I wish I could get rid of them. Telling them to stop doesn't work. This another of the C4C telemarketing calls. Sometimes it's for the police or firemen. Now it's supposedly for the soldiers. If you believe that I have a bridge in New York for sale you might be interested in.

There is a HUGE difference between the Soldiers Angels organization (and Most of the other places we get calls about) and the callers who pester all of us "on behalf of " these legit and helpful organizations! The calls most of us get are from Professional Fund Raiser Telemarketing Call Centers (TMCCs). The original, legit group has a great idea and Does a lot of good work. The TMCCs that we get the calls from are usually operated by a bunch of people who are Just interested in making money off a good organization and IT'S ideas. The TMCC usually keeps anywhere from 60-100% of the "donations" they take in. What money the TMCC Does donate is in THEIR name, not yours. THEY get the credit for the few cents-on-the-dollar They Do donate, Not the people who actually donated the money in the first place!
If the TMCC takes in $10,000,000 and passes on 5%, That's a $500,000 donation! THAT Sounds like a LOT, but the other 95% that Didn't get passed on amounts to $9,500,000! THAT's a LOT of help and aid that was derailed into someone Elses bank account!! THAT should be prosecuted as Embezzlement and misrepresentation!! Not for the organization that contracted the TMCC, but on behalf of PEOPLE who thought their money was going to some worthwhile cause, not to pay for the thief's second castle in Europe, or a private island in the Mediterranean!!
If WE called the organizations that are supposedly using these TMCCs and let them know that WE are NOT going to donate ANY money to them as long as they use and/or condone these TMCCs, and do NOT prosecute them for false advertising and misrepresentation, it might get their attention.
WE also need to get the word out to EVERYONE that the pond scum that call us on OUR phones, is NOT reputable. Most of them are crooks only looking to line their pockets with the money of well-meaning but naive, suckers.
PEOPLE!!! Knock it OFF!! Every time you give these low-lifes money they are encouraged to call all the Rest of us looking for another sucker like YOU. If you stop making this profitable for these crooked leaches by NOT giving them your money, the whole TMCC business will shrivel-up and DIE-ON-THE-VINE!!!! It will cease to work, and therefore be gone! POOF!! Make your donations DIRECTLY to the charity you chose. Then they get 100% of the donation to help others.
