inaccurate. they do have to stop calling you at your place of employment if ir is inconvenient. you can request that they cease and desist all contact at which point they may contact you one time to advise of any remedy the intend to invoke. FDCPA's only stipulation about calls to your home number is that it be between 8am and 9pm in your timezone. They can call you everyday of the week.
Most can call you once a week if they actually speak with you and verify that they are speaking with the correct person. If they call you and get no answer, or leave a message, or you hang up on them before verifying your address or ssn or whatever they can call every day.
It is not their responsiblity to call your bankrupcy attorney. In some states it is illegal for them to call your attorney. You would need to either call or send them something giving permission so speak with your attorney, and they you would have to have your attorney call them.
I like your post!!! I also work for a collection agency, but I do have some things in collections from when I wasn't working and one of them is a Kohl's charge card. I have received letters from RGS but I haven't contacted them yet. They sent me a settlement letter for 50% though so I am probably going to be paying it off soon. I like how your letter talked about everyone talking about the bad with collection agencies and not the good. IT IS SO TRUE! I have read things that people have said about the collection agency I work at, and a lot of them I know are lying. If what they were saying were true, numerous people would have been fired. The one I work at takes things very seriously. They have fired people for failing audits, which include things like customer service and following proper procedures. I wish they would have "compliment websites" for collections agencies besides just "complaint websites".
