"Don Perkins" called me from this number. Called at 6:39 a.m., 6:40 a.m., 6:42 a.m. and 6:46 a.m. one morning. Never identified himself as a debt collector and at one point just screamed "pick up the phone!" My ten year old was terrified. He was attempting to collect a debt from my husband's company which I knew nothing about. He also called himself "Rick in Dallas." Received over 25 messages on my answering machine and cell phone over the course of a day and a half from different people with similar numbers but the last two digits were different. I was told I was being sued, that investigators were at my house taking pictures, that they were looking at a picture of me on the internet and that they needed to pick up a check immediately for $13,000. They called my mother, my father, my neighbors, my in-laws and the place where I was attending a meeting. All this happened while I was out of town and concerned a debt which I knew absolutely about and had no control over. All the phone calls were awful and threatening but Mr. Perkins was by far the worst because he screams. Apparently this man gets his jollies by scaring women and children.
I received a call from a "Kimberly" at "Burton Associates" with this as the return phone no. She claimed that my company owed $293 to a company called "Namsa" I had never heard of. I told her I would pay nothing until she documented the bill, and she then started threatening me. I hung up on her, but I'm still getting messages on my answering machine.
After a quick Google search I determined that Namsa is a medical supplier. I'm not a physician; I'm an engineer, and I don't work in any kind of medical area. I suspect that she saw my title Dr., and assumed I was a physician and would probably have dealt with that company.
Fred Kaston from "Burton Associates" called me from 469-368-6412. He called our 800 line, which is for customers. Why is he calling our 800 line if a debt collector? He didn't say anything else on the message, or, let me know why he was calling. Mr. Fred, if you wish to speak with me....please identify not only yourself, but the reason for your call. If you can't give me the simple courtesy of the details in question (company in which you are trying to collect for, and the invoice number(s)), you will not get a return phone call from me either. DON'T use an 800 line to attempt to collect a bill, either!
Sam Curtis called me repeatedly saying I owed a debt of $900. He asked for my CC number and told me I only had 24 hours to pay my debt. He threatened me with a law suit and left multiple rude messages. He called 7 times in a row from a couple different numbers, and even called my home phone.
