this group calls my home phone two to four times a day ...never leaves a message ...as soon as I see the 469 prefix on the call, I do not answer ...I answered once (November 2011) and told the "barely English-speaking" solicitor, I was not interested...this has not discouraged them ...they call and call thinking I may have somehow changed my mind ...
the line that ABBA gets through on is a bare-bones phone line that has no features like "call block"..
it really aggravates me that I have to subscribe to features and pay for those features to keep these companies at bay ...because of what they do in circumventing my wishes by continued calling, I would never purchase their product under any circumstance or price
They are showing as a non-profit, and non-profits are exempt from the National Do-Not-Call list, so they can call all they want unless you specifically tell them not to. If you don't answer and tell them, there is nothing you can do except block their number if you have the ability.
I never give my information out and I am on the Do Not Call list, but i did enter Publishers Clearing House and they redirect you to another page. And a lot of the time it is for insurance quotes. I never fill then in and just back out, but I should have known better, because these people will not leave me alone!
I just received a call to my office in Colorado. We are a police organization and medical insurance is not needed. The telemarketer who made the call represented himself as a member of the same police organization in Rhode Island to try and get a sale. "John" had such a strong accent and could not be understood that I very seriously doubt he is a police officer. I advised them to place us on their DNC list as the rep tried to mis-rep and if we receive another phone call, I will file a complaint with the Attorney General
Yep. These guys are annoying to say the least. Heck, now they don't even wait for the answering machine to pick up before they hang up.
