Called my cell at 1:45 on a Saturday afternoon. After reading these comments I'm sticking with my policy of not answering unknown numbers. If it's real, they'll leave me a message. Meanwhile I hope congress and consumer organizations succeed in forcing telephone companies to intercept robocalls.
The caller had a rich Texas accent, but something about the call was too clean. There was no background noise whatsoever. After the caller identified himself as Keith Doherty, I engaged him in conversation. I asked him if he was real, to which he responded, "Of course I'm real, why would you ask?" I said he didn't sound real, to which he giggled and then asked, "Can we continue?" I'm still convinced it was a robot, but he darn near passed the Turing test. Wanted money for cops.
Got a call from 469-470-0999 just a minute ago. Don't answer phone numbers that I do not recognize (and don't answer some that I do recognize ... lol). Why should I waste my valuable time with these scamming jerks!?! Hmmm ...... just another number to put on my block list. Sure, they will probably call from a different spoofed number, but, hey, no problem, there is plenty of room of my block list. :)
