Ihave two dps friends and it is definately a scam. They have never given that they are aware of, nor do the promote the organization. A asked why they pass themselves off as troopers. I was told that is part of the scam. They are not allowed to do this.
I got the call and he was from the Texas State Troopers Assoc asking for a donation. I'm sure that's who he is but I have heard these organizations do not give a lot of the money to the Troopers.
Someone from this number has called about 50 times, it's the Texas State Troopers Association. The number they keep calling for me is on the National Do Not Call Regristy and I asked them to not call but they keep calling. They say they are exempt from the do not call registry rules b/c they are a charity - and if I didn't like it, I should take it up with the government. I have asked them numerous times to not call but they keep calling, calling and calling. I've seen a negative report about their operation on the local news, it seems they are a SCAM.
same as all the others, Texas State Troopers calling and aksing for money, gave it one time and they now never stop calling me. When I call back get voicemail full. Wish I could stop this!
Receive several of these each week, all from Zacher Vanmeter. His voicemail is full, so no leaving messages. The phone is listed by whitepages.com as a TMobile number; they are at 1-800-T-MOBILE .
The TSTA apparently only gets about 10% of the *NON* tax deductible donations. Zach and buddies pocket the rest. TSTA information -
