Ihave two dps friends and it is definately a scam. They have never given that they are aware of, nor do the promote the organization. A asked why they pass themselves off as troopers. I was told that is part of the scam. They are not allowed to do this.
Daily calls; no messages. I finally answered and it was the TExas State Troopers Association asking for a donation. Told them I already donated 5 months ago and they rudely tried to convince me again; I said no again then he hung up on me. Never will i donate to them.
Hung up when I answered. I googled the name in "'s to find you all. Someone needs to put a stop to this person / number bothering so many.
I am current on donotcall.gov list as well. Let's bust them to the authorties.
same guy calling me, the TX state trooper have called me over the past 2 years using different names. Back in the day when I did donate to them, they gave my name to other groups (probably the same group) like the Hispanic cops retirement, cops for kids, TSTA and now Vanmemter. Its a joke and I do feel threatened to do anything about it.
Always rude and pushy.
Another TX State Trooper Association solicitation call, though Caller ID Said Zackary Vanmeter. They change numbers around and make it look like an individual calling instead of a fundraiser to keep people guessing. There was a TV report on them a while back and their questionable methods. Guess this kind of deception bears that out.
