This scammer calls mobile phone numbers without pre-existing permission from the recipient in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered, and still further by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line. They fail to provide a phone number and address when asked, yet further violating the TCPA. Their recording states that the victim has been selected to have their student loans reduced by 50% and the remainder reduced to a 0% interest rate. This is clearly a scam as the phone number they called has never been associated with a student loan, and the victim has no student loans. Do not provide this scammer with any financial information.
'You have Been selected to receive a free dinner for two, airfare for 2, this is a friendly meet and greet dinner promoting a new travel agency ..." Calls repeatedly every day
they constantly call and hang up. very annoying to us. we never asked them to call so we feel like it is an invasion of our privacy. especially when they call in the evenings. after a long day at the office, harassing phone call is not wanted. weekends are just as bad. some will call on a sunday. it is against the law to bother you on sundays. i think we should get their personal phone numbers and call them and constantly harass them. give them a taste of their own medicine. better yet, arrest them and keep them in jail. what is the point of them calling?? i have a running list of over 200 solicitor phone numbers and would like to turn it over to the right agency that will do something about the calls and make them stop. i stop using the "do not call list" since i still get solicitor calls after registering my phone number. i believe the "do not call list" gets sold to the solicitor companies.
