I have been going through this crap for nearly 2 years.Anything legal requires legal documentation and court process. If you have not been notified through your local court then don't be too afraid of the calls made by this number.Of course they are aware of your situation and possibly have gained as much of your personal info from unknown sources. They will threaten you and yell at you but don't let it move you.Anything legal should come through the mail or certified letter.
Call your local court and ask for the civil department. Then ask if any judgements have been filed against you.The court will give you any info needed.
this is a debt collector telling you that they are investagators and that the paper work for my arrest should be arriving at my home within 24 hours and still to date nothing has happen and they continue to call every day with the same threating message and so i have the local authorities and my attorney involved but the refuse to give me a address location and direct phone number to the company that i am suppose to owe this money to... so whatever you do dont give them an information because they will surely drain your account to pay their own bille again they are a debt collection agency and there is no such paper work in place
Any legitimate, law-abiding company would have no problem giving you their company name and mailing address. Scammers and shady debt collection agencies, not so much. If they had proof that a debt is indeed, yours, and that they have the legal right to collect it, they wouldn't be harassing you and in the process, committing multiple violations of the FDCPA. Please also report the calls to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.
I appreciate the info that everyone has posted. I was recently notified by my bank that my identity had been stolen (ss#, PIN, mothers maiden name-the works-bank was notified by law enforcement investigating online fraud). Since my ss# was compromised, I almost returned this call. I am so glad that I didn't!! This is probably a spin off of the fraud ring that stole my info in the first place!
