Harrassed & Embarrassed
I have been repeatedly harrassed by a gentleman by the name of Richard Long
supposedly from the US National Bank. He said it was in reference to a payday loan from 2005 and I owed $3105 and needed to pay it immediately.  I do recall having a payday loan, but the amount was around $300 so how would I owed someone $3000 for a $300 loan.  I asked for the company's address and to speak with his supervisor and he refused and said he was the supervisor.  He threatened me to no end, told me that he would be filing paperwork to have me arrested, called my job and told the receptionist that he was calling from the White Collar Crime Investigation Bureau and gave her detailed personal information.  Called back to my job and asked to speak with my supervisor and gave her the same detailed information and threatened to subpoena the hard drive from my work computer, etc.

He will not give me his supervisor's name, nor the company address or any of the other information I have requested.  I am so tired of the harrassment.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

No worries
SMAN - No need to worry, if your filed for CH13, then the debt was discharged. When you file the debtors have to appear in the bankruptcy court on your day, or the charges will be written off. They CAN NOT call after that date and harrass the crap out of you. Ignore those calls, if they do threaten you with law enforcement, tell them you'll be waiting. When I filed years ago, I had like 300 owed to Sears, it was discharged in July, Sears called in Sept. and wanted money, guess what? They didn't get it. No need to worry!

DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN ANY MONEY.  CALL The States Atty Office in your State and give them all the information you can.   I called the FBI last night and asked them if they had a "White Collor Criminal Unit" He told me there was not such place and that no debt collector could have you arrested, subpeano your assets or your companys assets.  the MOST they can do is garnish your wages and or file a judgement.   The FBI agent ALSO told me that you should NEVER give money to anyone who will not supply you with information pertaining to the original debt.

This SAME this happened to me yesterday!  This Richard Long called me and told me they were filing a warrant for my arrest and charging me with being the ring leader of a money laundering scheme etc etc.  I told him to suck my [***] basically once he refused to give me informaiton on the debt.   he then called my director and told him they would take the companys harddrive.   My boss was concerned and ready to pay the man.   I finally kept calling DICK back and HARRASS him!   I suggest EVERYONE do the same.   He finally got so tired of me he wouldnt anwser the phone.  They do have caller id there so be careful WHERE you call from or try to block you number.  In any case... DO NO PAY THESE PEOPLE, call a lawyer or the states atty... somethn but do not pay these people

SHELLY
I just got the dreaded "phone call"...this man's name is Paul Thompson.  He too has a middle-eastern accent.  He called and asked me if had my attorney's information on hand. I told him no and he said that he would call me back.  He said that he expected me to have the info when he called back.  He then asked me if I had a criminal record and that the affidavit which he had in front of him was about to be "sent down" (whatever that means)...he said that he would read the affidavit to me but not to ask any questions as he was reading.  He then told me that charges were being placed against me by US National Bank and that if I did not handle this matter today, I would be sorry...He told me that the officers were coming to my place of employment today to arrest me.  I said "look dude", "whatever!!!!" he said "do you have a criminal record?"  "ANSWER ME!"...I told him I had an answer for him alright...I slammed the phone down...he repeatedly called me back...I ain't pickin up the phone!!!!!!!!
