I got a call on my cell phone on Friday morning from 4842379538 , showing Pennsylvania and I did not answer it.I do not answer calls from numbers that I do not recognize.. I put it on my auto-reject list. I looked number up on internet and found out that it is a scam from India. I am on National Do Not Call List. I guess that I will have to register again.
I actually answered.. Stupid me. I guess I was avoiding work. I listened to the recorded voice stating that I could lower my interest rate on my current credit card because of my good standing. I pressed one and got a live person. That individual stated the same as the recorded voice did that because I have never missed a payment and never went over my limit I was due for an interest rate reduction on my current credit card. She then stated as if she knew that my credit card balance was over $3,000. I interrupted and said that it was not. She then said well you owe more than $3,000 total in current credit card debt and I again told her no that I currently actullay don't have any credit card debt. She was shocked and to be honest for the first time in my life I kind of am too. She then apologized and said she had the wrong number and hung up on me... My guess it was some kind debt consolidation company. That or a fishing company who was then going to ask me for my personal information to see if I was again stupid enough to hand it over since I had already proven to be stupid enough to press one. Save some time and just hang up. Unless you are trying to avoid that pile of work on your desk.
They called on my cellphone and I am on the DoNot Call List. I did not answer because I do not know anyone in PA. Glad I did not answer. Looks like a scam or phishing group. Blocked this number from my phone.
robo call telling me to press 1. "Melody Scott" number 888 who spoke in an heavy Indian accent sounded like she was on a freeway promised to lower the interest rate on my credit card. She wanted me to tell her the the last 12 digits of my credit card! I refused and asked her for her information, company name and call back number which she could not provide. She seemed agitated, like she was in a hurry the entire call. Be Careful!
