My brother works for the phone company he says half of those calls are because VERIZON wants you to  enroill in their call blocking service for 12.95 a month as a well to JACK up your phone bill.  Every annoyance you get is NOT a telemarketer... it may be the phone company jacking you as well..

Been getting several calls.  I don't answer; no message left on answer machine.  How do these people get past national do not call lists?

Simple.  They ignore them, just the same way any criminal ignores the law.
