After many, many calls from this number, I decided to answer the call. Caller said she was calling from Cancer Centers, they provide supplies for patients all over the US. She was persistent, but I finally got her to understand no. My worry is this number is used for several different groups and the calls won't stop. So annoying.
Please note that this number is NOT affiliated with the Northwest Credit Union Association as the callers are apparently representing. The NWCUA is not soliciting donations for a "cancer center" and would not use telemarketers to do so. I tried to call the number to find out if it's affiliated with a legitimate organization but it disconnects after one or two rings. Legitimate organizations clearly and truthfully identify themselves, and answer their phones if you call back with questions.
I received a call from this number. Caller id said NWCUA. the lady said she was a volunteer collecting donations for the cancer patients . after a while I realized she sounded like a recording. I asked her why she sounds like a recording and not a real person. She laughed and said do I sound that bad? I said yes you sound like a robot. She laughed again and the laugh was identical to the first laugh. I had already given my address, so it was to late. She then said can we put the donation on a credit card now? I said no and she said o.k. we will mail the pledge. I am %100 sure this was a robot, not a real person. I tried to call the number back and got a recording after one ring, the number is not answering. I will not be returning the pledge, that is if I even receive it.
Its the NWCA. Northwest Cancer Association. I have been giving to them for years. They used to send a card in the mail and have now gone to phone and credit card for more progressive reasons. It's legitimate. It's been 12 years for me now and I've never had a problem.
Same story as others, donations for cancer......when I stated that we were going through a bankruptcy there was a long pause then "she" replied with "can I send you a donation card". I said no & there was a click. "She" hung up on me! I'm pretty sure this was not a real person.
This is a fraud call... hang up on her ... NWCUA is not a Cancer Organization it is Northwest Credit Union Assoc... report this person to the FCC.gov if you are on the do not call list, we are and she has been reported.
