These guys are still at it (CID indicates Transcom Enhance) with a local Portland number - say there is a problem with my computer and they would be more then "helpful" with walking throught the steps with me. Broken English - pure scam. Click!
I got a call from this number today but I don't answer calls that come up on CID that I don't know. They go to voice mail but these people never leave a message so I guess they know what I have known all along; they aren't important and are a nuisance caller.
If you receive calls from this number, and the caller is attempting to obtain account information of any kind (bank / credit card numbers, subscription accounts), or asks you to cash a check and wire proceeds to someone, or anything else suspicious, or even if you just find these to be nuisance calls, you can file complaints with the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission online, by phone, E-mail, fax, or postal mail. The FCC form takes about 2-3 minutes to fill out. The FTC form is a little more involved, but should take no more than 10 minutes.
FTC (especially if the caller is asking for account information or attempting to get you to perform some financial transaction of any kind):
