FYI, charities, political organizations, telephone surveyors, and bill collectors are all exempt from the National Do Not Call Registry restrictions. The following information is copied from the NDNCR's File A Complaint page:
1) You may file a complaint if you received an unwanted call after your number was on the National Registry for 31 days.
2) You may also file a complaint if you received a call that used a recorded message instead of a live person (whether or not your number was on the Registry).
*Reminder: Even if your number is registered, charities, political organizations, and telephone surveyors may continue to call you. Companies with which you do business may also continue to call, unless you have asked them to stop calling you. If you have asked them to stop calling, please keep a record of the date you made the request and include that information in the comment section of any complaint you submit against that company. Click Here: https://www.donotcall.gov/changeLang.aspx?returnpage=faqbusiness&lang=es-US for more information about the companies that may continue to call the numbers on the Registry.
Debt collectors may also continue to call you whether your number is on the Registry or not. If you have a complaint about a debt collector, please Click Here: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en to file your complaint. Appears to be a robocall from a scam artist. Online reports shows many different spiels with different offers, all aimed at getting your credit card numbers.
I called the number back, and it does give you the option of opting out. I always wait to talk to someone and they are RUDE and just hang up. Anyway, it says I will be taking off the list. I kept getting the calls so might be worth it to just call and opt out. It's all automated.
if you call the number back you can opt out. Ridiculous you have to do this. I've turned them in twice to do not call, but was pissed this time so called the number back. Better take care of the problem. I tried doing it thru them when they called but the RUDE SOB's just hung up on me.
dimed out to fcc. supplied info that they are also using 971-213-1939 & 360-474-3201 originating numbers as well. these idiots are not aware that i use a spreadsheet to log every bs call. and i lodge complaints providing info to the fcc on each also. i encourage every one to do the same ... it is easy to complain but actions speak louder than words - make a difference / inform others and take action so we can all get some peace! http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
