FYI, charities, political organizations, telephone surveyors, and bill collectors are all exempt from the National Do Not Call Registry restrictions. The following information is copied from the NDNCR's File A Complaint page:
1) You may file a complaint if you received an unwanted call after your number was on the National Registry for 31 days.
2) You may also file a complaint if you received a call that used a recorded message instead of a live person (whether or not your number was on the Registry).
*Reminder: Even if your number is registered, charities, political organizations, and telephone surveyors may continue to call you. Companies with which you do business may also continue to call, unless you have asked them to stop calling you. If you have asked them to stop calling, please keep a record of the date you made the request and include that information in the comment section of any complaint you submit against that company. Click Here: https://www.donotcall.gov/changeLang.aspx?returnpage=faqbusiness&lang=es-US for more information about the companies that may continue to call the numbers on the Registry.
Debt collectors may also continue to call you whether your number is on the Registry or not. If you have a complaint about a debt collector, please Click Here: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en to file your complaint. The knee-jerk reaction to these calls from "member services" and the like is to decide not to report them. Persistence produces results nonetheless. Report the calls!
Caller ID said "Member Services". Probably trying to make people think that their health insurance carrier is calling and hoping that will make us pick up the phone. I don't answer any numbers I don't recognize. I figure if its important, they'll leave a message. I think a lot of people probably do the same. Don't know why these scumbags keep trying this s**t. You'd think it would be a total waste of time.
Receive call almost daily from Member Services. Yesterday it was from 417-800-2325. I am on
Don't Call List and have asked them several times to take me off of their list.
got a call from that number on 10/16 it said unknown name on my caller ID, so I did not answer.
Another call came on 9/13 except the last 4 digits were different it was 503-457-1085.
It's annoying, but I am glad I got caller ID it is worth the money.
