I got a call from this number around 5:30pm. I answered said hello and heard some static. Then a guy said hello, more static, and he hung up on me. It was rather bizarre. I considered calling back since it's a local number, but I'm glad I decided to do an Internet search first. This number seems pretty shady to me. :-(
Got a call from #504-355-3913 saying it was collecting Donations for the LUPA - Lousiana Union of Police Officers. Make long story short I told him 'I don't know if you really are who you say, so give me a phone number or website. He did, but the Website is on Facebook and looks like a scam - very weird. I don't think it's REAL.
The phone number he gave me, 1-866-883-4275 (when I called back) only has a recording telling you to leave message or call back but does not identify itseld as LUPA. That a RED FLAG for me since Professional Organizations identify themselves.
I believe it's a SCAM. Will be reporting to the Police and FTC, etc.
Got this message and was asked to donate to state police assoc. I know for a fact not who they say they are ---------------------------a lie since my own is a police officer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop the scams.
