A stuttering white male voice spoke, and I cursed him out soundly. Remember, these calls are robo-calls. It was only a matter of time before the calls began to hit area 504. They've been hitting the rest of the nation for months now.
We have been receiving these calls for several weeks. I am in 985, but the calls claim to be from 504. We are in the Do Not Call registry and I have reported these people 3 times now.
I have repeatedly received these calls with the same "authentic" sounding person but it's a recording. I have tried to immediately call the number back to ask them to take my name off their list and I get the recording "This number has been disconnected or is no longer in service...etc. Today I reported it to AT&T. Not much help there - they tried to sell me call blocking and then tried to get me to bundle services - cell, phone and satellite! I did get them to tell me they would speak to the back office to see if they would just block this number. I feel like changing my phone number to private/nonpublished but I don't think I should have to go to all that trouble. We pay so many different fees on our phone bills each month-you would think they could block unwanted calls. The Do Not Call list is a joke too! I've registered with it at least 5 different times and still get stupid calls.
Most likely these calls are actually coming from out of the country. Because of this, the DNC registry does not apply. It only applies to US companies.
By the way, the number that you are seeing is actually being spoofed.
Caller. Laughs. Giggles. Sounds Asian females she talks I not understand her broken English I ask if she Spanish?? No she laughing I ask if she talking Asian she laughing I hang up ten minutes later she calls back I hang up
