This number called our business today at 1501 hours. Caller ID only said "Framingham MA." I suspected a possible spoofed number from a scam artist. I picked up the phone but didn't answer immediately. When I did, there was a bloop sound then a second later a guy (or a computer made to sound like a real person) said, "Hi. This is John. I'm looking for the business owner." I sighed to myself and asked, "Who are you." A suspicious pause (perhaps the program was searching for the right response), then, "Capital Funding --" I immediately told "John" to F-off (only I spoke less politely) and slammed the phone back down. We have been inundated with calls from loan sharks trying to give us "capital" for our business. We don't have ANY loans, don't want any loans, and don't need any loans but you can't tell these persistent blood-sucking spammers/scam artists that. They just keep calling again and again anyway. For the heck of it, I blocked our number and called the number that had showed up in the caller ID. It kept ringing and ringing. No one answered. Yeah, they're a legitimate company alright. Real, reputable lending companies wouldn't need to hide their identities, would have real landlines, and don't use VoIP (and possibly spoofed phone numbers) to avoid the law.
This number just called our business again, this time today at 1430 hours. The caller ID (as before) just said "Framingham, MA" so I was suspicious. (I didn't realize it was the same idiot apparently who called in May because we get a LOT of scam artists calling every week.) I picked up the phone but hesitated before speaking. That apparently did the trick because the call disconnected. Yay! I didn't have to speak with a scum-sucking bottom-feeding scam artist! (My apologies to legitimate scum-sucking bottom-feeding creatures.) So it looks like this particular scam artist is currently using the "business capital" scam when he calls businesses and the "car warranty" scam when calling residential numbers.
These scum-sucking bottom-feeders called our business yet again, this time today at 1520 hours. Luckily, I was on the line at the time so the call got shunted to an automatic answering system. When I listened to the message after I heard the usual "bloop!" sound so I knew it was, at best, a cold-calling spammer. Then a man's voice gave a confused, "Hello?" and then he apparently disconnected. One less scam artist I have to deal with today, but I'm sure they will try, try again because they're brain-dead idiots.
Once again these persistent idiots called our business, this time today at 1037 hours. When I saw "Framingham MA" on the caller ID I was suspicious. (I didn't remember the phone number of these spammer/scam artists.) I hesitated before giving my spiel then heard that dreaded "Bloop!" sound. I immediately slammed the phone down again before the idiot on the other end could pick up.
And once again, this time today at 1134 hours. This time I had left a note on my phone so I knew it was a scam artist so I picked up the receiver slightly and then put it right back down again. I'm not wasting any more of my time or tying up our company line on scammers.
The idiots called yet again, this time today at 1015 hours. As usual, I picked up the receiver slightly and put it right back down again. When I blocked our number and called the number back I got a busy signal. Twice. Apparently these anal sphincters don't understand a simple statement like "not interested."
