Received several calls from this number - caller ID says Service Call - silence on the other end for about 3 or 4 hellos. Then the other end comes on and a guy keeps saying hello as if he can't hear me. Maybe he's pretending because he knows I'm going to rip him and all of his ancestors for being irredeemable pieces of garbage, and probably also suggest that he get a respectable job, like crack w***e or used car salesman. Then he hangs up. And the calls come in about every day or every other day. Same story. No messages ever left on voicemail, just silence. No idea who this is, but they are in for a vile, unwholesome talking to if I ever do get a human on the other end.
I've been getting calls as well. I never answer a number I don't know. Never a message. If they are in fact a charity, they are exempt from the do not call. My number is also unpublished. Doesn't seem to matter these days when calls are made by a list. Auto dialers start with a number and change the last digit and keep going through that way. No way to avoid the auto dialers that are used. I'm now even getting calls such as this on my cell phone....so sick of it all! My phones are for my presonal use, not to keep any company in business, and I don't donate to charity through telephone calls. Charity or not, ALL callers should be required by law to list the name of their business! Paying for caller ID is a waste of money anymore.
got a call from this number they wanted me to make a donation to the breast cancer. i told the lady i was unemployed twice and told her i do not have any money coming in she kept wanted me make a donation.
I finally picked up since this call came in at 21:02 CST Wednesday. The caller gave his name as Rick, and he is with Homeless Veterans. He asked for my parents, first my mother, and I told him she was unavailable, then asked for my father, by the way who is a veteran of the vietnam war, but told him he was unavailable, and there was no message, but will call back. The only reason I answered the phone, was the fact the call came in after 9 p.m. I am assuming this is a non profit company, and the caller id listed "service call"
If this is, indeed, a "service call" as indicated by the caller ID,...they are certainly NOT a service to the people being called! Seem to be trying to collect money for some charity or the other. No constant from the posts as to WHO the money is being collected for! In any case, I'd suspect it is a SCAM, with robo calling, and not much you can do about it! Other than not answering the call, the only solution I see is to let them know that the call is being recorded, for legal purposes, and that anything they say may be used against them!
