Yes, I am getting these calls. But I haven't had a land line phone for years. Just got one a couple of months ago and no one knows my number. But I keep getting calls for the person that had this number before me. Bank mortgae people calling, credit card people , Dr. Offices. Just all kinds of people calling asking for the couple that had this number before. Evidently phone com. didn't let number stay vacant very long before they reassigned it. I got all the other calls stopped. Now just this one. I could get my phone number changed, but then have to go thru all of that again. Or I could remove my phone and go back to not having land line. Don't really need it. Use my cell phone all the time.
All you have to do is, "Tell them to stop calling" and they're not suppose to call anymore. You can put a law-suit against a company if the continue to call once you have requested for them to STOP.
I agree, this is a possible scam. I had a company call me, stating they were trying to collect money on a debt. I reported the number to LIFE LOCK and they looked into this situation. They people were arrested
They get your personal information from the government agencies they contract with. Problem is, what do they do with that information? You wonder how much security these contractors really have.. Or what they really do with it.
This is a ligit company that takes all kinds of old forgotten debts and tries to convince (fool) people that they need to pay up. They are bottom feeders looking to get some fool to pay them for a debt they purchased from the original creditor but never was able to collect. If they collect any money they keep it. Most likely they paid pennies on the dollar for the debt. It's an old debt that was written off as a loss and sold to someone else. They use a robo caller cause it's cheaper than a real person. Make sense?
They may be a "legit" company(from Texas) but their business tactics are illegal and immoral. They threaten and pressure you to pay nonexistent obligations.
