No company name on Caller ID or in Voice Message. Caller ID shows call coming from Ames, IA. Message stated "urgent" that I contact them concerning "eligibility to lower my interest rate", "offer expiring".
Wanted to "lower my interest rate" on a Visa, Mastercard,Sears,Discover,etc... card. After asking several times she gave me all of these card names. I do not have any balances on my cards so I asked her who she was trying to reach. She repeated the card names. i said that was not the answer to my question and asked her again. After the third time asking her who she was calling or trying to reach SHE HUNG UP ON ME. 100% scam! Credit card companies will automatically lower your rate or send you a letter. THEY DO NOT CALL YOU asking for your credit card info.
Just got a call on my cell phone and it said Ames, IA. credit card scam. Didn't answer and they hung up without leaving a message. I don't give my cell phone number to anybody only to my close friends and family. I am so tired of people from overseas trying to hack into our accounts....Nice try, but I am not answering....
