Anyone else who gets these ridiculous phone calls should report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) at 1.800.366.4484 or at www.tigta.gov. I lifted this right off the official IRS website and this is what they said to do.
Please keep calling and tell them ICE is coming to get them. Block your number first *67 then dial 515-770-1977...mid eastern accent illegal answers and threatens me...too funny...ship them all back...anybody out in Des Moines IA who can find these clowns?
a male with a "Middle Eastern" accent called today claiming to be the IRS & said they are opening up a lawsuit against me. Total BS Do NOT listen to this FRAUD!!!!
Yes, this is an oversea scammer, they use multipul numbers and want you to call them back so they can work their magic.
Beware, know that the IRS, FBI, Police, or any government enforcer will not contact you in this way.
This group of scammers will threaten you with arrest and get you worked up with fear unless you wire them or transfer to them immediately an amount of money.
If in doubt call your bank official or the police and explain the call. They will give you the information you need.
Just do not send any money or it will be lost!
