Anyone else who gets these ridiculous phone calls should report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) at 1.800.366.4484 or at www.tigta.gov. I lifted this right off the official IRS website and this is what they said to do.
Left a message saying that the IRS is bringing a lawsuit against me and to call immediately. I looked at this number and found this information so thankful I did
Called them back to mess with them. Gave a wrong first name, but they had right last name. I said that I was the IRS. They did not buy that one. Then I said I was not (fake first name). Then the idiot said I must be (my son's first name). They are getting the info from the Internet. I then kept calling him a criminal. I did report this to the FBI.
Just received a call from this number from a heavy-accented (Office Kevin Stewart) stating there is a lawsuit against my house, and asking for $7.5K with threat of serious consequences if I dropped the phone. He promptly dropped the phone when I told him I didn't care about the threat.
